Hours - what are the Library’s hours?
Monday thru Thurs 7-4:30 (CURRENT ETHS ID REQUIRED at 3:20) Friday 7-3:15 NO EXCEPTIONS ON I.D. Use "HOURS" link on yellow top bar for detailed information on calendar changes, school day hours, and after-school library use.
Can I sit wherever / use any computer I want?
Read signs please. If you're with a class, follow signs or directions. If you're not with a class and you come on a pass during classtime, ask adult staff where to sit. For Per. 1, Tutorial, Snack, Lunch, and Per. 7: Sit where you like, but not in last 2 rows of back tables or back computer area. If using a flash drive, ask which computer.
I love to read - can I be an ETHS Library Book Reviewer?
Yes! See Mrs. DeGolia or email to ASKDEGOLIA@GMAIL.COM. ***We'd love to have you be a part of our growing group of regular and guest reviewers. Reviews will be posted on the ETHS Library website.***We're looking for student reviewers in all grades, at all reading levels, and to represent all reading genres/tastes!
Tutorial - can I just show up for Library Tutorial?
All Library Tutorial users MUST SIGN UP IN ADVANCE. You also MUST have an assignment which requires the use of Library resources, technology, or environment. SPECIFIC ASSIGNMENT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON must be noted in writing at time of signup. Signup time is from Lunch the day before through Per. 1 the day "of." Repeated failure to "show" when you've reserved a spot will result in loss of future privilege.
Donating class novels & other books - what's in it for me?
GOT BOOKS left over from a research project, class novel, or pleasure reading? Your school benefits greatly from your donations to the Library...and you get the PESKY CLUTTER out of your life! Please contact Mrs. DeGolia if you would like to help out in this way. Also, ETHS Library maintains an AMAZON WISH LIST...please see CHECK IT OUT on the Library Homepage or ethslibraryBlog for access to the list. Thank you!
    Volunteering/Community Service in the Library
There are several options for volunteering and/or earning your Community Service hours in the Library: working behind the front counter at Snack/Lunch, helping during Per. 1/Per. 7 if you don't have a class then, and assisting with textbook processing over summer. Dependability/good attendance is a must. Please see Mrs. Coats in person.
Cell phones - can I use mine in the library?
Yes: To look up your password or other stored information. No: Please talk outside.
Food & drink - okay in the library?
Water bottles with sport tops are allowed. ALL other food & drink are for outside. This helps keep the Library nice for all users.
Passwords - How do I get my internet or online grades password?
INTERNET PASSWORD: Adult Library staff will look it up for you ONE TIME for free. $5 fee for the 2nd lookup, provided there's time. Lookup service is volunteer on the part of Library staff & does not take precedence over regular services. Ultimately, responsibility for knowing your login information is yours! ONLINE GRADES PASSWORD: See "Passwords" under "Computers & More" on Library homepage.
Online databases - can I use these from home?
YES! Do it the same way you do at school. If you have trouble getting in, make sure your brower isn't set to block popups...many databases use popup technology. If you still have problems, let us know so that we can determine if the problem is on our end. FORMER PASSWORDS ("getin," for example) for ETHS Library databases have been replaced with new ones. You may get these at the Library.

Debt List - how do I know if I'm on it?
YOU ALREADY KNOW when you have lost a book, not brought a book for book check, have damaged a book, or have overdue fines. Debt List, overdue notices, and bills sent home are courtesy reminders to you. Debt List UPDATES are posted in the Library OUTSIDE DISPLAY CASE. The Debt List is not always re-posted every day, so check the List date, and be patient during busy times.
My teacher's folder - how do I upload to this?
    - TO BE ADDED -
Student Library Assistants - how do I get to be one?
The Library accepts 2 students each period. This is a great position and puts a bit more punch in your transcript than TA. You need a HISTORY OF good attendance and good behavior marks, and you must get written approval from Mrs. DeGolia first. This position is open only to Grades 11 & 12 (even if district materials indicate 10th grade also).
